  1. Potential editors for AHM journal may be identified through various channels, including recommendations from current editorial board members, researchers in the field, and the broader scientific community.
  2. The journal may also actively seek nominations by announcing open calls or inviting expressions of interest from qualified individuals.

2. Application and Evaluation:

  1. Interested individuals are invited to submit an application, which typically includes a curriculum vitae (CV) and a statement outlining their qualifications, expertise, and vision for the journal.
  2. The editorial board or a dedicated selection committee appointed by the EIC reviews the applications, assessing candidates based on their scientific expertise, academic achievements, publication records, editorial experience, and their alignment with the scope and mission of the journal.
  3. The evaluation process may involve factors such as geographic diversity, gender balance, conflict of interest, and representation of various research disciplines, as applicable and relevant to the goals of the journal.

3. Interview and Reference Checks:

  1. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview, either in person or remotely. The interview provides an opportunity for the editorial board or selection committee to discuss the candidate’s qualifications, vision, and their understanding of the journal’s editorial policies.
  2. Reference checks may be conducted to gather feedback and insights from individuals who have worked closely with the candidate, such as colleagues, mentors, or previous collaborators.

4. Editorial Board Decision:

  1. Based on the applications, evaluations, interviews, and reference checks, the editorial board or selection committee makes a collective decision regarding the selection of new editors.
  2. The decision is typically based on consensus, considering the overall qualifications, expertise, and suitability of the candidates for the specific editorial roles.
  3. Finalizing the appointment may involve notifying the selected editors and discussing their roles, responsibilities, and any necessary administrative procedures.

5. Onboarding and Training:

  1. New editors receive an official appointment letter outlining their roles, responsibilities, and expected commitments to AHM journal.
  2. The editorial board provides necessary training, orientation, and guidance to ensure that new editors are familiar with the journal’s policies, manuscript handling processes, ethical considerations, and publication standards.
  3. Ongoing support and mentorship may be provided to help new editors acclimate to their roles and responsibilities.

6. Term Limits and Succession Planning:

  1. Editors will serve a single term of 5 years that may be renewed for another term upon the recommendation of the editorial board.
  2. The editorial board or selection committee ensures appropriate succession planning by identifying potential future editors in advance and considering their qualifications and readiness to assume editorial responsibilities when current editors’ terms come to an end.
